Hi guys,
I am willing to buy a system for research that mostly will involve ABAQUS/Finite element!
Approximate Purchase Date: This month
Budget Range: (e.g.: 300-400) If you can provide atleast 2 builds with the budgets in the title would be amazing!
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Research based analysis, using ABAQUS and Finite Element softwares
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: Want a prebuilt system from lenovo or dell preferrably in canada
Do you need to buy OS: Yes
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Lenovo canada/dell canada.. any good brand with prebuilt workstations in canada is welcome too!
Location: London,Ontario Canada!
Parts Preferences: No preference!
Overclocking: Most probably no
SLI or Crossfire: Most probably no
Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080,
Additional Comments: Nothing special.. I was looking at few workstations in lenovo running Xeon E5- 2603 v3 but then noticed it has a lower score than the new generation i7? is there a reason for this? I heard Xeon's are better for number crunching? Sorry my background is not the strongest when it comes to Finite element builds. I will need 16GB of ram minimum and a GPU thats suitable for finite element. The rest is flexible as long as its a prebuilt system from a reputable website in canada!
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: For research, showing my advisor several builds with different budget to check which one is suitable
