I read one of the Vista articles a few weeks back where they tested how much ram effected performance. They said that the new sweet spot probably would be 3gigs.

Would it be better (cost/performance) to get 3 gigs (2x1gig + 2x 512) or get 4 gigs (4x1gig or 2x2gig) using 32bit vista? (knowing 4 gigs can't be totally utilized)

Or would my money be better spent on other components and just use 2gigs?

Thanks guys

I have 4Gb with Vista 64 and most of the time stay under 50% utilization. As far as speeding things up really depends on what you do. Heavy PhotoShop it will help a little. but stick with 2Gb unless you really need it.

I run 3GB with Vista business 32 bit and it only shows up as 2.8GB. Two gigs should be plenty. I run 3GB because of the 3D modeling software I use.
