3 inch high power supply as heat sink too high?

Hi, I need a power supply that allows for a higher heat sink than the std 3.5 inch clearance allowed for a PSU. Any suggestions?

atx components are a standard size , so what is actually going wrong and with what hardware ?

My heat sink/cpu fan is too high. but I'v already come to the conclusion that it's the heatsink that has to change. I couldn't find any PSUs that have a lower prfile than 3.39/3.5".

just btw its a biostar P4M80,intel DC 3.0G pentium 4, 2 gigs, Nvidia Quadro fx2000, etc,etc. thanks.
