[SOLVED] 3 long beeps on start up & No signal after only changing monitor?

Hello!

Recently I've noticed a bit of a strange issue with my PC.

After replacing my old monitor ( ASUS PB277Q ) with my new one ( LG 27GL850-B ) my computer has been making three long beeps on every start-up. However, the PC starts up completely normal, works perfectly fine and does not repeat the beeps. This has only been happening since monitor exchange.

Both monitors were running over the same DisplayPort.

What I did notice is that I used to have the same problem with my old monitor as well, but only when I started the PC before the monitor. If the monitor was already up and running / loaded, I would not receive the beeps.

With the LG 27GL850-B, it makes no difference whether I start it earlier or not because it doesn't have the " start-up " screen that the old one used to have ( basically just a display of the Asus name ) and flips straight into no signal, only to open into me signing into the PC automatically moments later.

This also occurs when I restart the PC.

I did clean my RAM and tried out both sticks separately / exchanged their slots, but that made no difference. I also tried using my old screen again, and I do not receive the beeps with that connected.

My motherboard is a Z370 PC PRO ( MS-7B49 ), for clarification. I did what it said in trouble shooting and only used one stick at a time, but I receive the exact same thing with both on their own, too.

Maybe your display port cable is faulty. Where did you buy it? Some cables are not properly manufactured and have all pins connected, but pin 20 has to be not connected internally.

Hello! The display port cable came with the LG 27GL850-B monitor, so it's essentially fresh out of the box. I can always try it out with the display port cable from my old monitor just to double check, though.

Also try: (not sure, but could be 1 long and two short beeps as well)
remove and reinstall the graphics card and then restart the computer.

Update the motherboard BIOS to the latest version

Hey, I just wanted to update this because I found out what was causing the issue!

Apparently I had to turn off the Displayport 1.4 option in the settings of the monitor ( someone on reddit with the same monitor suggested this and it fixed my problem immediately. ) No faulty hardware, thank god!
