I just built a computer and installed Windows 7 ultimate onto the Samsung 850 pro 1TB ssd that I purchased to hold the OS and any important files after installing all the ms updates and drivers the computer now takes 3 mins to boot it will display the windows 7 boot animation and then once the animation finishes it will stay 'Frozen' on the screen (I say frozen meaning the screen doesn't change at the end of the animation) and 3 minutes later you will here the startup sound and the login screen will appear any suggestions on how to fix this. If you need more information don't hesitate to ask.

Solution
After it boots,Download Driver Booster from iOBit and Install it and then It will scan for all Missing,Outdated and Damaged Drivers and Tap 'Update' and It will Install the drivers silently. After that Install every Windows Update and also Update Derectx,.NET Framework,Java.exe and update all your Apps.Buy an Anti-virus and then check for any viruses as they can also be a cause for a delayed boot. After that,Shut her down,Open up your Case,Clean every Wire,Sockets,Pins and Connectors and reconnect them.My SSD 840 120 GB Boots Windows 7 x64 under 10 Seconds ! If nothin fixes it,Re-install Windows (Get Windows 8.1) and see.

Also i did not personally put windows 7 on my computer a friend did for me and i don't know if he did because i never thought to ask him and it does say this is a genuine copy of windows 7 ultimate but i think he may have cracked it somehow could this at all be the cause of the problems im having with the 3 minute boot time???
again i won't know if he did crack it until i speak with him.

7000$ Whoaa thats Huge.Yes the instructions will work but boot her up on the current mode and Install the AHCI Drivers using Driverbooster and then do the registry stuff and while restarting go to your BIOS,CHange the mode to AHCI and You are good to go.

Did you try the Driver Booster software,Sir ? I am using it for my system and it totally rocks ! It fixes most problems. Also update your Firmware of your SSD and Update your BIOS Too.Try resetting your CMOS Battery and finally If nothing helped,Re-install Windows (Windows 7 Recommended) and see if it fixes your Problem.

i did try driver booster but had no success their in fixing the problem my SSD's firmware is up to date and my BIOS as well. could the problem lie in the fact that i think the person who installed windows 7 on my pc cracked the OS it never occurred to me at the time but i heard from a friend that when my friend installed windows 7 on their pc he cracked it which is making me suspicious?

Yep most likely dodgy software. I have a legitimate license but a possibly dodgy copy of 64bit 7 Premium as I bought 32bit by mistake then downloaded an 64 bit iso.

Ever since, I can't install any service packs and half of my updates fail even though it is using the proper product key.

+1 what bharathbigb said.

So my best bet would be to buy windows 8.1 and then upgrade to windows 10 free when its released?

I found out what was causing it and apparently it was one of the two 6TB HDD's i found this out when i wipes my SSD and reinstalled windows 7 and when i plugged both HDD's back in 3 minute boot time apposed to the 30 second i got before so i unplugged a drive and got 30 second boot time plugged it back in and 3 minutes so i ended up copying the data from HDD 1 to HDD 2 and formatting it then transfering the data back and now im getting proper boot times thank you guys for your help with this problem.
