I am looking into buying a set of three monitors to hook up to my computer, I will be using them for work such as documents, surfing the internet and ultimately gaming. I am hoping to learn more about three screen gaming in general.
1. I would like to know what cables I will need to hook it up to my computer?
2. Will my computer run it well? My specifications are:
I5 4670k processor over-clocked to 4.2 GHZ
R9 280X graphics card
8Gb ram
Water cooling and fans
Asus motherboard
650W power supply
3. I have looked around for monitors and have decided that 21.5 inches will be the maximum I can accommodate and have been looking at this monitor, it has good reviews and would like to know if I have to buy any extras to get it to work. i might stay away from using HDMI i have a dual monitor setup with an radeon HD7770 and when i used one of my monitors with HDMI i had to scale it to fit the screen so i had to go find another monitor with a DVI connection just to have both monitors the same res. i don't know if you will have the same issue with display port if you can find a monitor that has displayport
With most GPUs, you need at leas one of your monitors on DisplayPort to do three or more monitors. If your monitors support it, you can daisy-chain from one to the next in sequence, or you can run one off the DP and the others off DVI/HDMI. If you're wanting to game across all three monitors, you'll need to set up Eyefinity the way you want it for your game.
