3 Monitor Setup GPU

Wanting to do a triple monitor setup at 5760 x 1200 resolution however unsure of which GPU will provide the best experience, i.e., ultra-settings with a constant 60+ FPS on all games which utilize Nvidia Surround. Obviously with the upped resolution VRAM will become an issue and my understanding is that the more powerful the GPU the less reliant it is on VRAM, perhaps I'm wrong. I'm sure SLI will be involved though I would prefer to avoid this seeing how going dual GPU can have drawbacks.

If you want to try and do it with a single card the 780ti is about the only choice and for 60+fps you may still need 2 of them.

Is that resolution really that hard on a GPU or is it something else? All the processing power I read about these cards having it seems they would be able to handle this more easily. I figured maybe 2 770s w/ 4g or even 2 780s but for 60+ fps you're suggesting I may need 780ti in SLI and if that is indeed the case where would the titan fall into this since it alone would be cheaper than 2 780 ti

A single 780Ti is actually a bit faster than the Titan. The GTX 780 is currently considered the fastest single GPU, with the R9-290x and Titan close behind. That resolution is a gpu killer. There doesn't seem to be any reviews with SLI'd 780ti's running 5760x1200(or 5760x1080 for that matter) so i have to guesstimate. In Crysis 3(very high quality) I'd expect somewhere around 25 fps with a single 780ti and ~45 fps in SLI.

I am in the same situation as you at the moment. Haven't been able to game at 5760 x 1200 yet due to still having a 6850. I was looking at a 780 or 780 Ti for a while, but ultimately I decided to wait a bit. Mainly to see if the rumored 780 Ti with more RAM and the 790 come out soon. If those aren't giving a decent jump at a reasonable price, I think I'll just wait for the 800 series.

If I do wait for the 800 series, I plan on getting a 660 or 760 to hold me over. That way I can at least game at reasonable setting on one monitor.

That's basically my reasoning as well at the moment since I'm still adding a few things here and there it buys me some time. The 790 looks like it would be more multi-monitor friendly while the Titan 2 seems to be a 780ti with 6G of VRAM and therefore subject to the same drawbacks, assuming the ''leaked'' specs are accurate of course. The release of Maxwell is still slated for Q4 last I read which I interpret to mean that the 800 series is scheduled for a similar time-frame unless it's released with the Kepler architecture in which case the 700 and 800 series would be fungible. Currently have a EVGA SC 760 2G for single monitor gaming and I like it for most games
