3 monitor setup with 1440p or 4k as middle one

I have an excellent 3 monitor 1080p setup running on ATi eyeinfinity fine.
However, I want to upgrade the one middle monitor to 1440p or 4k, (not upgrade all 3)
Windows 7 seems to work okay but games (e.g. grid) will only play single screen,
even if I switch middle screen back down to 1080p.

My graphics card is an ATi R9 270 2GB, but I believe its a game setup issue not this card.
Up-to-date Graphics drivers newly installed

You sure wanna upgrade from 1080p especially with a r9 270?

if you plan on gaming I wouldn't recommend it, three monitors seems to be pushing it already and I dont believe games support two different resolution monitors while gaming.
