I have 3 monitors and only 2 ports on my qraphics card. Is it possible to set up the 3rd on the mobo? Most places I've seen recommend against it but figured I'd ask anyways.

It will work. But not for gaaming on all monitors. Btw make sure the monitor/s you game on are connected to teh graphics card and hit Win+P before starting a game to leave just said monitor/s enabled. "PC screen only", for example.
If gaming is not in your menu, you will have no issues whatsoever.

I just realized that is my friends mobo that i put before. went back and found my actual one.
ASUS M5A88-V EVO AM3+ AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
judging from the fact that i cant find anything in BIOS about monitors anything, I'm going to assume its not something this one can do.

You probably have a CPU that does not have integrated graphics(what cpu is it?) and that's why it's not working.
Byw, what's your graphics card?

they are a bit outdated so i wouldnt be suprised if they didnt work
AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 6-Core 3.3 GHz Socket AM3+ 95W FD6100WMGUSBX Desktop Processor
ASUS GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) DirectX 11 ENGTX560 DCII OC/2DI/1GD5 1GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16

This is correct. My bad!
Time for an upgrade, mate. Geforce 6xx and up all support 3 monitors.
But I recommend that you wait till teh end of the month and get an AMD RX 480 for $200. It will be a fantastic deal.
