I have been running 2 monitors for awhile now. I just got a 3rd, but cannot seem to get it working.
I have a Radeon HD 6870 video card. It has 1 HDMI, 2 DVI and 2 mini display ports.
All three monitors connect via HDMI. I have two HDMI-DVI adapters, as well as an active mini display port adapter ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PJ3LSIG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 ).
I can get any two of the monitors to work properly using any combination of: HDMI, HDMI-DVI adapters or active DP adapter.
However, as soon as I connect the 3rd monitor, all 3 screen go black. This happens no matter which combination of monitors/connections that I use.
From my google reading, I was under the impression that as long as one of the connections was through an active display port, that everything would work.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
