I always wanted to have a 3 monitor setup i have an intel 4960k no grafics card 8gb ram Asus Z97-k motherboard.

I am about to get a card that could fire 3 monitors

1366 x 768 on the right a 1080p monitor in the center and the same 1366 x 768 monitor on the left. My aim is to just get some looks on my computer desk not to game on them all but i would game only on the center 1080p monitor my questions are:

1> Which card would be ok as i need like 60-75 frames on 1080p budget is not considered but would something like a r9 380 / gtx 960 handle it ? and keeping other 2 monitors powered on ?
(keep in mind i would game on only the center one )

2> is it even possible to keep gaming when u have 3 monitors and game at only one keeping the others 2 on for browsing and light stuff like that

3> Is my ram and other stuff ok for all this i can upgrade it if it really needs it.

Games i might play:
Assassins creed unity (med settings)
Battlefeild 4 (medium-high)
minecraft (maxed out extra 3rd party shaders)
Portal 2 ( Maybe on eyefinity/vison surround as its an old and lighter game)
crysis 3 (high)
titanfall

From a performance point of view, gaming on the center monitor is not a problem with side monitors attached and displaying static stuff like email or monitors.

Modern graphics cards will support three outputs, but be careful about what type of outputs the card will have. They tend to be displayport or hdmi outputs and not necessarily dvi outputs.
You need to match up the capabilities of your graphics card with your monitors.
You may need adapters.

I would recommend the most expensive card that you can afford as it will future proof the system.

The 970, 390, 390X, and 980 are in a great place right now for running multiple displays.

"Portal 2 ( Maybe on eyefinity/vison surround as its an old and lighter game)" you'll need the same resolution across all three monitors for it to scale across all of the screens.

I can get up to 390 but not as ,mush as a 390x

and secondly i could turn the resolution down to 1366 x 768 too on the center monitor then game play on infinity right ?

also what would the other 2 monitors do when i run a game only on the center one ? switch to stand by ? or run what thaey were doing b4 the game. wile ingame can u use the other two monitors to browse or use notepad or something simple ?

As to gaming on triple monitors, you have to look at the specifics of the game.
Triple monitor gaming is called different things by AMD vs Nvidia.

You will be managing 2-3x the number of pixels, so performance may be an issue with a weak graphics card.

Different games have differing abilities as to how to exit a game and do other work.
It may depend on the game using dedicated mode or windows mode.
