I have a MSI 7125-f mother that I wish to maximize its potential without over clocking. I already have an Opteron 185 processor 2x2.6ghz, Raptor hard drive, lite-on dvd-rw drive. Now I am trying to find out what the best memory configuration is. I currently have 4x512mb single sided pc-3200 ram that runs at 400mhz. Is that the best config? or would it be better to run 2x1gig at 400 mhz? or would it be better to run 4x1gig at 333 mhz? or 2x1gig and 2x512mb that would also be at 333 mhz. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the systemm used for? How much memory is used? If 2GB or less is required, than use 400Mhz memory (the number of modules isn't that important). If your motherboard supports more than 2GB at 400Mhz, then why would you use 333Mhz?

His system/mobo is like mine. If 4gb(4x1) is intalled windows xp32 only sees 3gb and runs at 333mhz. with 2gb(2x1) it sees it all and runs at 400mhz. I've read it's due to addressing space limitation. Which gives better performance?
