Question 3 Pin rgb cable coolermaster td500 to asus tuf x570 plus wifi. How does it connect?

Ok so for pc build, and ive come up short on only one thing. Im still waiting for my gpu(ill be picking up my card this weekend). There is a 3 wire to 1 wire adapter coming from what i believe is the case fans for rgb. Now im not sure how exactly this is supposed to be. I did a fair bit of searching and reading, and i basically came up with you use a 4 pin rgb header. But i did not find out how exactly you place it. I dont know if thats correct, or which way your supposed to orient the plug(slots up or down). Im really not sure if this belongs in the case section or mobo section, but i figured this was a place that would have the technical answers which vary from mobo to mobo.
