I've been reading for about a week I can't seem to find any information that corresponds with one another.
What I am trying to do.
I have one modem router combo. Cisco 3925. I have a new linksys n9000 and an old linksys.

I want to be use all three of these I'm a three story house. I have cat5 from the Cisco to the 2 linksys.

How can I set these up internally to allow me to communicate between devices. Such as a printer on the Cisco. Or a media server on the N9000 trying to be accessed from the old linksys.

Please help me

Home style routers are really just fancy switches to end users. Just shut off the DHCP service and assign it an IP from within your network, connect a cable to your main router (Not the WAN port) and there you go.

I did this in my home because my room is at the opposite end of the house and the wifi was being interrupted by the rest of the neighborhood. Now my house has 2 APs, and full coverage.

Alright echonite. I attempted this a few nights ago based off my research. When doing so I listed the lol I think I found my mistake while typing this reply. My range on the modem router is set to after .12 I was telling ap 1 to pull its ip as .03 and after removing dchp from it I lost connection. Is this why?

Yes that could be related. If the IP you set is not within the range, it is not part of the network.

My main router starts its IP range at 192.168.1.100 so i set my second router as 192.168.1.253
