I cant figure out why my seagate 3 TB HDD shows up as a partition of 750 GB. I have tried reformatting and deleting the partition to no avail. I also tried swapping sata cords with that and another drive. It is formatted as GPT and NTFS. Is that correct? Any help would be really appreciated.

Solution
try using diskpart tools and windows disk manager make sure that it sees the drive as it full size. if not run hdtune or another disk check program to see if there an issue.
coocoo if you dont have a newer efi motherboard then your bios of the mb is having a hard time seeing the drive as it is. if you do have a newer motherboard make sure the bios is updated and the drive on the intel or amd sata ports. if you do have a older mb and bios some of the newer drive have size limit jumpers to help older mb see the drive as two smaller drives.
