Hi Im trying to do a 3 way sli, however the manual says there are 2 different sets of places to put the graphics card. For example for 40 lanes I put it in pcie 1 3 and 4 but for 28 lanes i put it in 1 4 5. I dont understand, which one should i use?
Alright. When you run 1 GPU it runs at x16 speed. Now each speed takes up a lane. So on the 5820k, 28 lanes, the GPU would run x16 and x8 I believe. On a 5930k and above it would run x8 for all gpus in 4 way configuration. So follow the manual and use the PCIe slots listed in a 3 way config.

so do i follow the one that says 40 lane or 28 lane?
ok thanks. just 1 more question, MSI provided me with 4 sli bridges but all of them have 2 outputs only. Can I connect the first card to the 2nd card and then connect the second card to the third card? or do I have to get an sli bridge with 3 inputs?
