Which is better? I get that 3 x 120 will move more air but be louder and that 2 x 140 will move less air but be quieter. Is there really a difference apart from looks?

Solution
A single 140mm intake in the front would likely be enough considering the cpu is cooled with an aio. If the aio cooler is exhausting out of the case those fans will also be evacuating some of the warm air from components. 2 140mm fans as intakes should be more than enough.

I have a similar setup though my gpu is hotter than the one in your build. I'm using the enthoo pro so using the stock 200mm intake that came with it as my only intake fan and my system stays plenty cool even with the cpu oc'd to 4.6ghz and an air cooler. My ambient temps range from 22c to 26c and no issues when gaming under load.

If looking to add a couple of 140mm fans I'd consider a couple more phanteks fans. Just pay attention to the model numbers, some are 3pin...
The 2 x 140 fans will probably be your best bet. 3 x 120 fans won't cool your case much better than 2 x 140 fans. The difference will be maybe be 1 or 2 degrees max. The noise reduction easily makes up for the slightly higher temps. Also, the 2 x 140 fans will be cheaper than 3 x 120.

Just pay attention to the model numbers, some are 3pin while others are 4pin (pwm) if you're looking to use pwm control. 3x 120mm fans would be overkill and just for looks. Similar to the 2x 140mm exhaust fans in the top of my case, more to even out the looks. The 2nd fan up top isn't doing much other than the fact I can turn both down to around 6-7v (using a rheobus fan controller) and run them extremely low speed/quiet and still move air.

So, I want to cool an S340 Case with an AIO cooler for my processor. I'm planning to buy the NZXT Kraken X62 with dual 120mm for intake, and then i want a cooler master blue led 120mm fan for exhaust. Would this work?
