Hey Everyone, I had a question in regards to the 4090 power delivery and the aftermarket cablemod offerings. To provide some context for the reason behind my dilemma I recently bought a 4080 after waiting YEARS to upgrade and bought a 3 x 8-pin to 16 pin 12vhpwr connector for it. The cable has worked great and looks so much better in my case. Despite all this I have a higher resolution monitor (ultrawide) and being this is the last upgrade I will be doing for a long time want all the performance I can get for what I have. I have been relatively underwhelmed with the 4080 despite it being pretty energy efficient and more of a power house then the 3090ti. That being said knowing that (while this may sound ridiculous) I feel kinda put out knowing that I spent $1300 when the 4090 can potentially offer quite an uplift for that (wait for it) just $300 more at this point. Well I saw a 4090 at MSRP come up on Newegg today and I moved on it. Currently having buyers remorse to some degree but I felt that way after getting the 4080 too. Anyway I already have the 3 x 8-pin to 16 pin 12vhpwr cable from cablemod and was wondering if this cable would power the 4090 with my 1000watt 80+ Gold EVGA PSU ? I know the adapter has 4 pigtails but I was wondering if it really needed that much power considering the 3090ti used 3 I believe? Any info would be great, Thanks!
