Hiya Guys,
SImilar questions have been asked before but thought id ask for an up to date answer.
My PC is across the living room plugged into the TV. I'm currently using wireless mouse and keyboard but finding input lag on gaming stressful so am going to switch to wired now.
I just need to decide whether to have 3 extended USB cables at 2 meters each for the mouse, keyboard and headset, or to extend a hub over with a single 2 meter USB cable.
The only thing i worry about is whether having a hub on an extension would degrade signal quality or give any input lag, baring in mind they'll all be being used simultaneously.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks, Mark.

Solution
the headset on a usb extension might or might not work, the long cable sometimes offers resistance and the device doesn't get enough juice and will shut down randomly

for keyboard and mouse it will work, i do it all the time without issues

but on a xbox 360 wired controller, sometimes it ends disconnected and reconnected constantly

if the usb hub you are going to get is usb 2 or 3 it probably will work if you connect it on the mainboard ports and it must be a powered usb hub to be 100% sure

Thanks for the reply,
Am thinking maybe simpler (and cheaper) to move the pc nearer me and get a longer HDMI cable lol.
The cost of extending USBs and Hubs seems to be getting higher.

Thanks again for answering

you can get a long 10 foot hdmi cable to achieve that too

the hdmi can be cheaper, yes, the power usb hub and the cable will be surely more expensive and a log hdmi only has issues after 5 meters or 15 feet, or if you use a male to male connector to join two hdmi cables together

also consider just buying a wirelesss keyboard and mouse, but the headset remains a mystery, if it will work or not without random disconnections
