I was sitting down after work today when I heard my Firepower attract
mode sound off. I went in to see who was in the game room and my three
year old son had a chair against the front of the game. He had put 5
quarters he found on Dads dresser and had just pushed the start
button. He proceded to play 7 games, he matched twice, and did pretty
well. He then turned around and smiled, turned off the game and went
off the do what ever a 3 year old wants. I thought pretty cool he
knows how to turn it on, start games, play, and then turn it off when he
is done. There is a future for pinball.

Its awesome when kids start playing on there own. My daughter is 2 1/2 now
and she has been around the pins since she was born. Around 1 1/2 years
old I got her a 2 step wide plastic step stool to use at the games and she
has been playing with them ever since. Around 2 she one day just walked up
and turned on STTNG and started playing it, ever since I will just all the
sudden hear a pin turn on, a game or 2 is played and then she turns it off
and goes and does something else. She also likes my MAME cabinet but cant
turn it on herself she has to have me do that. She likes Donkey Kong and
Pac Man not good at them by any means but its funny as all get out to hear
her go 'oh daddy they got me' while playing one of those games.

My kids (boys, 3 and 5) do the same thing. My 3-year-old has a longer
attention span, but less interest in actually operating the flippers.
They insist, however, that their step-stool be left in the game room to
enable them to screw around. Fortunately, they're not at all
interested in LoTR or NGG, and are only minimally interested in Elvis.
They do, however, LOVE to turn on the big E, start a game and dance to
the music.

When the lil ones come to my house, they turn on all 11 machines, punch up 4
players, and leave the machine after the first ball on player one.

My 4-year old son loves to play our Bobby Orr. He turns it on and gets
after it. And he's pretty good at it on top of all that.

I probably need to take the games off free play and let the little bastards

I have 2 kids 3 and 6. They both like playing the games and go out and
turn them on and turn them off when they are done. The one I like to
watch most is my 3 year old playing SF rush the rock. He has to stand
on the gas and clutch and look through the steering wheel to see the
monitor and does really good. His favorite track is the rock and hits
the tunnel and loops everytime. He actually completes the courses. One
of the reasons I started buying games was for the kids to want to stay
at home. Bring there freinds to our house so we can see who they hang
out with and just have family fun.

Later.

And then when they turn 10 you go up together to the gameroom to get some
flippin'fun, play one game he has the highest score. Says well that's it I
am going downstairs....you ask WHY?? he repleis "You have to stop on your
highest point, don't you?".....??....(he's a sour loser)

I'm in the same boat.

Our two year old loves to play the pins. Punches it up on four players
will play ball 1 on all players and move on to the next machine. He
does the same thing with our Elvis...if he can get the KING to
sing...he's down from the stool and dancing around the gameroom in
circles. It's funny we don't even have a Twilight Zone anymore and he
told me the other day...."daddy I love twilay zone......booojew get a
another one".

He also likes to play and wants me to play whatever machine is beside
him. He's playing "eight ball chalk it" (his name for Eight Ball
Deluxe) and he points to the next machine and says "daddy you play dis
one...votaire"

Other funny names he's come up with for our pins.
"Howdy Partner" ......aka Whitewater
"Votaire"........aka Cirqus Voltaire
"Shock Me".......aka KISS (he likes listening to KISS, and thinks the
band is called "Shock Me" a song sung by Ace Frehley)

My 2 1/2 year old son loves to "play" TZ, its a laugh to see him slap the
lock down bar when he loses the ball - wonder who he learnt that from. :)

The thing that does bug me is when he gets bored and decides the best thing
to do is crawl under the game I am playing and switch it off. It must look
real funny seeing me play trying to hold him off with my foot under the
game.

My son.....loved Twilight Zone...all he cares about is the
powerball....he'll drain the other balls...just to get the powerball
out of the trough. He'll stand in front of the machine with me playing
.....and wait for me to unload it out of the gumball machine...just to
get the powerball back out.

This pic right here sums it up.
This is him after walking into the Houston Expo and finding his
machine and getting the powerball out!
