Hey everyone, 3 years ago i built an amazing PC with the help of this forum. I am now looking to "freshen up" the system a bit. Is there anything I can do to speed it up a bit noticeably?

The only real bottleneck is my gtx 970, I can no longer play games on high settings at 1440p. I have to turn down almost everything to medium. So a graphics card is in the future but not quite yet, I think I'll wait another year or so for the 1180 or whatever they call it. I'm looking for something in the short term. Should I get a better CPU? More or faster RAM?

What do yall think? P.S. I use the system for my office work (word, lectures, various stuff) and GAMING.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor OC’ed to 4.3ghz
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory
Storage: 4 hard drives all SSDs
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer
Monitor: Asus 1440p Monitor

Everything about this build is solid. faster ram would not give you any performance gains worth the purchase. you're best bet would be to get a used 4790 for about 160 on ebay. its a great deal and would give you the best boost in performance without a gpu upgrade. dont be excepting a huge leap though.
