Hi i am looking to see if anyone knows of a 300 watt psu for the acer aspire xc-886 because i want to buy a gtx 1650 lp 4gb and could i also use the card only with 220 watts and under power it with the msi afterburner

What is your CPU?

I think using a 75W GPU on a system with only a 220W PSU might be trouble.

The closest I came was with a Dell, which was a 220W PSU (18A available on the 12V rail, so 216W of the power available on the 12V rail), and the GPU I used was only 55W max, but the CPU was also only about 54W max.

It would be helpful if you could get a clear image of the power supply label, so we'll know who makes it, and how much power is made available on the 12V rail(s). Some OEM power supplies are notorious for not providing enough on the 12V rail.

here you go and i also wanted to ask would it also work if i under power the gpu trough msi afterburner

Still need to know what CPU you have.

BUT, at 15A on the 12V rail, that's a total of 180W. I'd be EXTREMELY hesitant to go with adding in a 75W card, unless you have a low-power CPU.

You'd be much safer with, say, a GT 1030 - maybe the 1650 is viable if you have a 55W or less CPU. If you have a CPU with a higher draw, though, I think you'd be cutting it a bit close.

Wel i have an intel core i5 9400 but trough msi afterburner i could put the maximum watts used by the card at around 50 but that means it wouldn't run as good but do you have any idea wherw i could get the same size of a psu but like 300 watts

No idea. Small form factor systems with proprietary PSUs are difficult to work with, and usually make poor candidates for major upgrades.

I've seen online someone with a small form factor Dell use an external power supply with a 24-to-8-pin adapter (the Dell MB had an 8-pin power connector rather than 24-pin)... but that meant the PSU was outside of the case.

The i5-9400 has officially a 65W TDP, though Intel's more recent chips tend to blow past their official TDP rating.

Given the PSU you have, I wouldn't go any more than the GT 1030. As for upgrades, maybe a search online for higher-capacity power supplies for that model Acer. Alternately, maybe measure the dimensions of the PSU and see if others are available in those dimensions.

You'd also need to know if it's a standard 24-pin connector from the PSU to the motherboard, or some other number of pins on the connector (like the 8-pin ones some Dells use).

I have tried literally everything you have said to me right now i can't find another psu i was thinking of buying a gt 1030 but it would have no reason because i already have an xbox that plays games better and if i spend so much money on a new psu and a gtx 1650 lp then i would just save up and buy a xbox series s
