In 2014 an incredible member named Darksable helped my build a really good Photoshop/Video editing/3D editing computer. He REALLY new his stuff! I was very grateful. I have tried to contact him again but not successful. Can someone help me build another that will equal OR BETTER the last one? It needs to be quite so id like to stick with the case (or the new r5 version). Id like to upgrade everything (in a new 2nd build) to today's standards. The last build was as follows...

Case-Fractal Design Define R4 N82E16811352020
Power Supply SeaSonic 650-Watt ATX12V/EPS12V SSR-650RM
Processor-Intel Core i7-4790K-BX80646I74790K
Memory -Corsair CMX32GX3M4A1333C9 32gb
VIDEO CARD EVGA 06G-P4-3791-KR
FAN-Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler
Drives-(4) Western Digital 1 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache WD1003FZEX
(RAID 10-2TB of storage, mirrored over four 1TB drives)
SS DRIVE 1-SanDisk Extreme II 480GB SATA IOPS- SDSSDXP-480G-G25
SS DRIVE 2-Crucial M500 240GB SATA CT240M500SSD1
(SS Drives for OS and Programs)
2x Bluray writer ASUS BW-12B1ST/BLK/G
SOUND CARD Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX 5.1 Sound Card SB1570

Is there a computer genious who might be willing to help me ??

I am still trying to figure out on what planet a 1kw PSU, is necessary, for a system using a graphics card that doesn't even need external PCI-E. The single channel ram also perplexes me.

Unless you're planning on buying a Titan X or two, I can see the need for one, but even the Titan X Pascal models only draw s 250W per card. So even on an SLI system at max this would draw 715W, so you really don't need more than an 850W PSU. But I agree a 1KW PSU is mega overkill for this usage.

OMG!! Amen to that! I learned the hard way...I now make daily 100% backups of back ups...on-site and then digitally to the cloud. Today, my only weak link the the actual work station. ALL files have redundant back ups.

@Commercialvoice.

I can provide a build that will last you like 4Years for Video Rendering at 1080p and longer for 3D Rendering but you can't expect it to perform well at rendering 4K videos. And there will be less upgrade options with it. You will be required to get a completely new build if you plan on 4K video editing in future.

In other case as I listed above I can provide you one build for $3000 which is only for Video editing but is highly up-gradable and will last you a very long time. It can easily handle 4K Video editing too. And in addition to that you can upgrade the PC you already have to meet your 3D rendering needs.

Decision is yours to make. What you want?

We may not have a specific rule against offering cash but I am certain it goes against all our principles of free advice.

You won't kow who gave you the best advice until you've built the PC and used it for some time so your offer fails on two counts.

Kindly withdraw that or this thead will be closed.

1. I'm sure I said "we may not have a specific rule against offering cash" so thank you for supporting that view by saying there definitely isn't one.

2. Just don't come crying back here if you discover after the event that the opinion you paid for turned out to be second best.

3. Nowhere was I suggesting taking money myself so get that one out of your head. I sleep quite well on days when folks find the free advice I gave worked for them and I earn my living doing the same thing when I'm away from Tom's.

The general concensus among the Moderation Team is you can do what you like in Private Messages and just keep it off the public forum. If the nasty little habit catches on I strongly suspect our Community Manager will create a suitable rule.
My concern, and supported by the views of other Moderators, is that it may

Commercialvoice leaving the above concern out for time being.

Please can you decide on the two options I provided. We want to know your opinion on that and provide a build accordingly.

Here please select which way you wanna go from below two options.
