After 4 years with my old gaming machine its time to upgrade. This time around my budget is right around $3000 I have a parts list cooked but I need opinions. I want to overclock but I also want it silent. I don't care one way or the other about lights as long as the hardware is superior.

Thanks

If you look at my system it runs silent, even when gaming I have to really listen for it.

Thank you for the reply. How was your experience overclocking on the Gigabyte board? I had read an article stating the Asus BIOS was more user friendly which is why I was considering that board over the Gigabyte.

As it stands it may be around September before I build this rig, but I thought the Nvidia CEO was quoted at Computex stating the new 1100 series from Nvidia was "a long time from now"

I hear the ASUS boards are more user friendly also, easier to find settings etc.
