Hey guys,

I've just built a new gaming rig with some help from in here (Thanks!).

After assembling the components i noticed that in my bios my ram are clocked at 2133 and not the listed 3000hz.
I can tell from different sites that ram usually default to this setting if nothing else is done to it but got lost in XMP, DOCP and other terms so decided to go here for advice.

System:
Ryzen 2600
Asus Rog Strix B450-f Gaming
2x8 Gb Corsair Venegeance LPX DDR4 3000hz 15CP

I updated the bios with latest stable version and upped the clock speed to 3000hz, but am unsure if it is "that simple".

Thanks!
/Poul

Solution
Yes, you should use XMP/DOCP rather than upping the frequency manually. If you enable the 3000 MHz profile you shouldn't have to change any other memory settings.

Oh and btw, my system can boot with this setting, am currently running Memtest86 to see if it will crash.
If my questions was not obvious from above: Should i use XMP / DOCP or other settings instead of just ramping up hz?

Okay good, i did that. Then i ran Passmark and i get lukewarm memory rating. Any idea why? The ram should get a better score here i assume.

GPU Gigabyte 1080TI
PSU Corsair RM850x

The PassMark RAM test indicates that my RAM latency is really bad.

When i look at the score compared to other people with the same RAM my score is clearly way off in latency.

Question: What can cause latency issues with my RAM?
