Question 3000MHz but MOBO don't support it?

Im just wondering will anything happen if my ram is 3000MHz but my motherboard says it only supports up to 2666MHz (not OC)? Can i OC the mobo or something?

If your board is rated for 2666 , you most likely won't get to 3000.

DDR4 will boot up at DDR4-2133 anyway, then you can manually set up to see how how the system can reach with that memory kit. Use the latest BIOS for best results. Let us know how it goes.

Ok, thats fine but will there be any problems or will the ram just get automatic down to 2666?

It will most likely boot at 2400 , like stated above and you can change that in the BIOS under DRAM settings.

Make sure it will run stable at 2666 first
