3000MHz on 2666MHz Max Capacity Issue

My answer may be in the title but I’m new at this so I want to make sure. My motherboard specs says up to 2666MHz and I didn’t realize this like a dummy and bought 3000MHz. It’s a new build and it just keeps restarting every time I turn the computer on. I ordered 2666MHz just now hoping this solves the boot issue.

Solution
the motherboard/cpu should be able to handle much higher frequency. have you enabled xmp on in the motherboard uefi?
i have a feeling that you manually set the memory to 3000 in uefi without changing the proper timing and sub timing.
the "proper" way to run these ram is to enable xmp in your uefi. without manually touching any setting.
