Hi

I was going to build a new computer last year but, never got round to it!

I did however buy some parts, one of which was CMK32GX4M2D3000C16 Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4 3000 MHz C16 XMP 2.0.

I have now decided to go ahead with a build and have bought an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X and Asus Rog Hero VIII 570x motherboard. Would the 3000mhz work or will I be better buying 3600mhz ram? I have all the other parts. This will be my first build too!

Solution
If buying new I’d pick 3600mhz but as you already have 3000mhz I wouldn’t sell it at a loss just to go 3600mhz, the gains are not worth that. There is a reasonable chance your RAM will overclock, it may not hit 3600mhz but it may get close. I found it easy pushing my 2x16gb 3200mhz CL16 to 3600mhz with a small voltage bump.
