Hi I just bought a Ballistix 3000Mhz ram,and I have a gigabyte H370m hd3 motherboard with a I5 8400, both suppot 2666 ram. but the stick only runs at 2400. I checked the spd there is one 3000mhz xmp profile, and multiple 2400mhz and lower jedec entries. is there a way I can get it to run at 2666?
Thank you for your advice!

Solution
Using CPU-Z or some other software, read the memory module SPD data for 3000 MHz.

Take note of the required voltage and timings for the module at 3000 MHz.

Reboot into BIOS.

Set DRAM Frequency manually to 2666 MHz.
Set DRAM Voltage manually to the required voltage noted earlier.
Set DRAM timings manually to those required as noted earlier.

Save settings and exit BIOS.

Reboot.

Hopefully the module will now be running at 2666 MHz.

You can try making fine adjustments to the timings and voltage, but no guarantee of success as 2666 MHz is very close to 3000 MHz.
