I'm building a new PC and thus looking for budget oriented parts. In my area, I find difference between 2400Mhz 16GB Stick and 3000Mhz 16GB Stick negligible.

But the question is, will i3 8100 on a H310 Motherboard Support 3000Mhz Or at least 2666 On XMP ? Because they list this note
"* To support 2666 MHz or XMP memory, you must install an 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5 processor."
in the specification of Gigabyte H310M H Motherboard on their official website. Asus also mentions the same with it's H310 Motherboards.
Kindly Guide Me.

Solution
You can buy 2133/2400/2666, with XMP enabled they can scale upto 2666mhz. Anything above 2666mhz will automatically scale down to 2666mhz which is the default top speed limitation of that chipset.

So, that note on the H310 Motherboard websites can be overlooked for 8th Gen Core i3 Processors ?

Thanks for the reply.
