Hello friends, i recently bought corsair ddr4 16gb(2x8) vengeance 3000mhz for my pc. My problem is when i look it up on speccy it is shown as 16,0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1068MHz (15-15-15-36) i know dual channnel means 2x1068 but it doesnt add up to 3000mhz so am i missing something here

edit: i have a rog strix z370-h gaming mobo

So when looking at speeds, you double so 1068x2 is 2136, which is close to the jpdeg or practically is the jpdeg rated speed. To get to 3000mhz, you are going want to go into your bios and apply the xmp oc profile. After your done and everything boots perfectly, check your software again and look for 1500mhz or a number really close to it.

is this safe or something that i should have done while setting up the rams already ?

I mean the correct thing would have been to make sure the ram is compatible with your motherboard by checking the QVL list but other than that, yes it is safe as it is an oc profile from the manufacturer that should work unless your mobo amunfactuetr says otherwise. If your computer won’t boot after applying the oc profile, just clear cmos and it should boot up again at its JPDEG speed. Even if it does boot, I would just run a stability test to make sure the oc profile is for

3000 is an oc speed and mobos will default to stock speeds. To run that speed, you must set it yourself and xmp makes it much easier. Dual channel doesn't double the speed. DDR stands for double data rate so the effective speed is double the actual. Dual channel doesn't change speed, it's just another channel.

I think you mean jedec not jpdeg which doesn't stand for anything but jedec has multiple speed standards so saying it's jedec speed also makes no sense.
