My recommendation would be to return the Velociraptor, and get the Kingston 40 GB SSD for your OS, and buy a WD 640GB for programs and other stuff and pocket or save the diff for something else.
The WD 640 GB Black drive is darn near as fast as the Velociraptor and a whole lot cheaper (just under $80.00 @ Newegg).

If you do this, I also suggest that after you load your OS to the SSD, then format the WD 640 from Windows, relocate your swap file, Internet temp files and the TEMP: folders to a folder on the WD. Some SSD's can have problems with the constant writing and re-writing of small files. This has been discussed many times but I can't immediately document where. In the long run, it will help prevent your SSD from slowing down. Oh, and NEVER, EVER, EVER defragment your SSD. Bad, bad, holy sh*t bad.
