Hi I got an I7 4770 and put it into a SFF G1 400. I was wondering if a MT G1 400 300w would work as I'd love a better gpu than my GT1030.

So you want to switch your SFF G1 400 for a MT G1 400 then change the PSU to a 300W unit? Or does the MT already come with a 300W unit? Either way, the MT will be a lot better for GPU compatibility since you won't need low profile cards and there is no funky limit on the pcie slot power.

Hi

The motherboard in MT doesn't work and I needed a SFF for space but it does have a working 300w Psu. My plan is to put in a 1650gtx which will be fine for my needs. But on a 240w I wouldn't risk it.

I doubt the MT PSU will fit in the SFF chassis. Even so, you won't need to, since such a system will never really draw more than 200W (~100W for the CPU, ~75W for the GPU). That being said, you will want to check if the SFF's motherboard has a weird power limit on the PCIe slot, such as my old HP Compaq Pro 6300 SFF which had a 25W limit on its PCIe slot, also with a 240W PSU. A GTX 1650 can't run well on 25-35W.

Hi just an update

The GT1030 works fine with the PC and plays games like Doom 4 at 60fps in 720p easily enough. I got over 140fps for Half Life 2 with every setting on highest levels and lets me play all my indie and retro titles just fine thanks for all your help.
