[SOLVED] 3060Ti Power Dongle

Just received my 3060Ti and it has a 12-pin plug in the GPU meaning I have to use the 8pin to 12pin " dongle " that it came with. This won't affect the performance will it ?

It’s designed to be that way, there is no impact to performance.

Confusing how the GPU has 12 pins, but the adapter has 8 ??

It's a new standard that will come to all future GPUs, at least for Nvidia. It uses double the wattage from a 8pin, that's why it needs 2x8pin to work.

The 3060Ti adapter has one 8 pin connector on it , not 2 as the 3070/3080/3090 has.
Just wanted to clarify for others finding this post.

Thanks for clarifying that. I am curious as to why Nvidia wanted to keep 12pin for that card when 8pin is all that is needed. Maybe they had stock of 12pin???
