Hi,

I own a Lenovo Prebuilt PC (T530-28icb) with i5 8400 cpu and upgrades such as 16 gb corsair vengeance ram, seasonic 650W psu, 1 TB SSD and I just upgraded my GTX 1050 TI gpu tu RTX 2060 (bought it with aprox. 330 USD). I am ok with for my casual gaming and video editing with premiere but I am afraid that it wont be future proof for playing 1440P games at high settings the next 3-4 years from now. I can give back the card to the store and get refund or swap it with another one. I am not sure if my pc could run without compatibiity isues (the motherboard seems a cheap one) with a 2070S or maybe 3070. I can buy right now a 2070S with about 550 USD and a 3070 with about 800 USD (that 500 usd for founder edition is just impossible to get) so should I stay with this one, go for the 2070S or 3070 without issues?

Thank you,
andrei

Solution
wait for the release of the AMD cards, maybe the pricing will lower after that or an AMD card will be better than the 3070

are you gaming in 1440p and higher than 60Hz?

Hi,

I am gaming on an LG OLED (C9) with g-sync and 120HZ at 1440p so that is the sweet spot to get great graphics at that level. With 2060 i tried playing marvel avengers at ultra at 1440p and got judder and lag with an average of 30 fps, so not that future proof imo....i think i will get the card refund and wait for a better version my only concern was that my mobo wont be able to run a 3070 (which is also very hard to get now).
