Hello

I am building a PC with Ryzen 7 5800X, RTX 3080 Ti and 32Gb RAM, for gaming (not sims, most FPS)
My set will have triple monitor; I was thinking about 3x 1440p... but I am afraid the 3080 can´t handle it.
Should I stick to 3x 1080p?

Thank you

Solution
Well it's maths actually.
3x 1080p monitors = 3/4 of a 4k (2160p) monitor or 6.220.800 pixels.
3x 1440p monitors = 4/3 of a 4k monitor or
11.059.200 pixels.
So, if your specific game performs let's say 100 fps at 4k with your setup, then it will perform around 133fps with 3x1080p and around 75 fps with 3x1440p. The performance difference is not linear but it's close enough.

So if you know the performance at 4k you can find the approximate performance for the monitor setup.

What’s your target FPS? I’m running a 3080 and 1440p 144Hz. There are games that I still have to tweak settings if I want to stay over 140fps. The 3080Ti is only 10-15% faster. So if aiming for 60fps it should be good, but if aiming for >120fps I’d say it will need settings to be compromised in newer AAA games.

The 3080 TI setup is not ready yet. At the moment I have a 3070 in a 4K monitor... and I have about 45 Fps in most games in Ultra.
My question is IF the 3080Ti will hold up same games with 1/3 more pixels.
And if it will be "future proof", to not need an upgrade in a few years

Then search YouTube for the game you play with your soon to have setup at 4k.

Noone knows the future so we can't predict what you will need in a few years time. You might play completely different games that need inferior setups or you might play only triple A games that will max the RTX 5090Ti at 1440p...

I´ll see to that.
