Probably a stupid question but is it possible to have 30Gb of RAM available from a P.C. I know motherboards are restricted to about 4Gb but is there some external device that will allow more?

I have been looking for a Memory expansion card as well for a while.
Unfortunatly, I've only found them for mainframe applications (non field upgradable)
The only thing we can hope for is someone realizing that there is a demand for 30 Gig RAMdrives, or we can wait
for true 64bit processors that can directly address 2 EXABYTES.

Flame not, lest ye be flamed.

Make a Ramdrive. What you need? A battery for memory storage when the power is off (because flash ram is too slow), and a way to controll it. There are companies that make these things and charge over $10k for small ones. The card should not cost that much to make. And I don't know how to do it. If you know someone who can make a working prototype, I can get your PCB mass produced. We should be able to fit 16 modules on a PCB designed for a 3.5" drive bay enclosure, which can provide 16GB with 1GB modules. 24 modules on a 5.25" drive bay enclosure sounds better. I am always looking for new business ventures, so if you know a designer that can do this, I would be happy to help you out with production and distribution.

Back to you Tom...
