Question 30hz monitor running 60hz refresh rate

I have a 4K 60hz monitor connected to my MOBO HDMI port. MOBO specs clearly state max resolution is 4K 30hz, but when i plugged in the monitor it was running 4K 59hz by default and seemed to work fine. If i stay running this at 4K 59/60hz will damage happen or any other problems?

thats the APU running Vega3(i know this is a low end graphics to run 4K but its just playing back video mainly nothing else really)

Most likely it is using chroma subsampling
