There used to be a saying that a 32-bit OS would be a better fit if you had only 4 GB RAM or less.

Another saying is that if you have a low-spec Windows PC and want to give it a new life, you'd replace MS-Windows with a lightweight Linux distro.

... and there are lots of PCs out there with Skylake, Zen or newer and only 4GB of RAM. There are models from this year even — with non-upgradeable RAM.
