ATI cards are great, however most games nowadays are designed and tested
mainly with Nvidia (Gforce cards) chipsets due to thier popularity right
now. As a result some games will look and preform great on ATI cards others
not so great. From my understanding of the whole deal is that the 2
companies chipset and instruction designs are drastically different from
each other so if you were programming a game on an Nvidia card you can bet
your "booty" youre gonna have to go back and tweak it for other video
chipsets, wich is what I've noticed with alot of the new games out with the
patches they release usually have a bunch of ATI fixes, although it could be
ATI drivers as well, I know I have got a few buggy ones from updates in the
past. Hopefully this will be less of an issue in the future seeing as ATI
cards are gaining in popularity.
