I ran across a 32 gb ssd drive very cheap and i would love to buy it,but will it be enough for windows 7 32 bit and few gigs of software 5 gb at most,i'l be running my games of a secindary hard drive,so is 32 gb enough storage to hold my win 7 and a few apps ???

If your machine supports it you may want to try out Intel SRT with a drive this small. Either that or make your boot drive the spinning disk and just install the few things that you want to be really quick on the SSD. I really didn't notice all that much of a difference between SRT and booting off of an SSD in day to day use anyway.

For instance, if it takes you 20 seconds to boot, and 10 seconds to load a level in your favorite game, and 20 seconds to load Photoshop . . . Moving to the SSD will have about half the time off any of these things.

Considering you probably restart once or twice a day, booting off of the SSD will save you 10-20 seconds a day. So do you launch Photoshop more than twice a day, or load a level in a game more than 4 times a day?

On the spinning disk run software like Perfect Disk or Ultimate Defrag to move unused data out of the way.

I have an intel 40 gb and I managed to have 16 gb left after win 7 64 bits and a few software. You will need to uninstall a lot of unwanted apps from the original install of windows and disable all the caching and indexing... see some ssd optimization guide to know exactly what to uninstall but in the end you will be ok

Can you do it? YES!

Would I? NO!

A drive that small should be used as a cache drive, if your mobo supports it (Z68 or higher chipset). But it's not all it's cracked up to be.

Get at least a 60GB for a boot/OS drive.

Remember, you get what you pay for (cheap=cheap).

Unless you are an astute windows user with knowledge of how to relocate user files, hibernation files, program files, e-mail profiles, common files, etc, I would not consider anything less than 120 GB. If ya want SSD boot performance w/o the hassle get a hybrid SSD / Hard Drive like the Seagate Moments XT 750 GB which manages to boot to windows in 17 seconds....a decent SSD will do it in 16
