I have a newly built PC running on AMD 3700x, 32 gigs G.Skill Trident Z Royal DDR4 -3200. Does it make sense to upgrade the RAM to 32 gigs G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 - 3600? I don't game but I do a lot of photo editing. The Neo is only $14 more than the Royal curently.

Solution
If you barely game and mostly do photo editing then faster ram will not yield that much difference. If you were in the position of deciding between either then obviously the 3600, but since you already have the 3200 kit you're fine as is. There is little difference between the 2 speeds anyway compared to the difference between sub-3000 and 3000+ kits.

I went ahead and returned the 3200 ram and got the 3600 ram for an additional $14. I would pay the additional $14 just for the RGB alone. The Trident Z Royal crystal RGB was too blingy for my taste. I am old.

I have had several BSOD while running the ram at 3600. I had to drop it down to 34xx mhz to have it run stable. Is there a way I can have it run at 3600? My specs are below.

ASrock B550 Steel Legend
G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 gigs
Corsari 850w PSU

I checked the QVL and my mobo is compatible. All PC settings are stock.

My bios is version P1.10 dated 6/10/2020. I checked ASrock's site but could not see anything newer. I also used ASrock's own utility and it shows no bios update available.

Do you have the 2 x 16 Gb or the 4 x 8 Gb kit G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 - 3600 ?
It would be harder to reach max published speed with 4 sticks compared to only 2 sticks
