Question 3200mhz or 3000mhz for my build?

Hey, so uuuh, cut a long story short, I'm about to build a new rig and I'm in a position where I could get my ideal RAM choice at 3000mhz right now, or 3200mhz in a couple of weeks. I'll be using it with a 2070 Super, Ryzen 3700X, MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard. Playing at 1440p with a high refresh rate. Is it worth waiting for the 3200mhz or not?

Well at 1440p cpu is the bottleneck so it will not affect the performance that much. Also you can just pick the 3000Mhz and overclock it to 3200Mhz or even higher if the kit can go (it is not guarantee if it will clock without any problem though)

3200MHz would be ideal but if you can't wait 3000 will do too, you'll probably only miss out on 2-5 fps.

I should mention it's the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, specifically. The 3200mhz version costs about £17 more.

Would configuring the timings of the 3000 to match the 3200 be a decent option? Only just found out that was possible, lol.

3200, also, just get one of the cheaper x570, to avoid bios issues. The price difference isn't much, vs that MSI B450 Pro carbon AC.

If by timings you mean increasing clock speed, sure if you're up to it. From what I've heard its even more tedious than CPU overclocking though, so just get 3200 MHz ram.

Timings is a different thing though. Generally, you want lower timings, and higher clock speed RAM will have higher timings. For now, just ignore timings as 3200MHz CAS Latency 16 (Probably what your 3200 ram would be considering price) will still be faster than 3000MHz CAS Latency 15.
