I have a 2x8gb kit of Trident Z RGB installed in my ASUS Prime Z270-A motherboard. When running at 3200mhz my games will randomly but persistently crash. I’ve tried changing the voltage with no luck.

Previously I was using a 2x8gb kit of Teamgroup Nighthawk RGB ram that ran fine at 3200mhz so I don’t think it’s my motherboard being faulty. Does anyone have any experience with problems from this ram?

I also had a 3600mhz kit of the same Trident Z that wouldn’t post at stock timings and also crashed at 3200mhz 16-18-18-38

How did you configure it for 3200MHz? Did you use the XMP profile in the BIOS? Are all other memory timings on "auto"? Have you tested your system specifically for a memory issue? For free tools, you can use PassMark's MemTest86 (boot's off a USB drive - free version is fine) or HCI MemTest (runs in Windows). My favorite testing tool is RAMTest which costs a small amount ($11.74) as it's fast to find errors and runs in Windows.

I’ve tried XMP and manually setting speeds timings and voltages. I’ve ran memtest86 with no errors. SPD values are normal so it’s not Aura messing about. But after posting this i bumped the speed up to 3333mhz at 1.35v and it hasn’t crashed. So I’m more confused.

Are your DIMMs installed on the recommended by ASUS slots? (A2 and B2) Please try to run a memtest as well. I guess you reset the BIOS settings before changing the RAM. Try to increase the VCCSA and VCCIO to 1.2V as welll. Does it work fine on stock settings?
