Hi, Maybe this been mentioned somewhere! I tried to search but couldn't find it.

Will 3200 Mhz work with the Amd Ryzen 5 2600?
It says that it can go up to 2933Mhz.

I have a Msi B450M-A Pro Max as mobo, do i have to do something to make it work?

Or should i stick to 3000mhz to be safe :)

Solution
The MSI B450M-A supports memory upto 4133MHz (OC) so that's not an issue.

2933MHz is the 'official' limit for the 2000series cpus, but XMP/DOCP settings will override that stipulation. Ppl have been using 3200MHz ram since Ryzen 1000 series release.

3000MHz is iffy. Many mobo's don't contain the right multipliers for that exact speed, but 2933MHz is natively supported on All Ryzen platforms, so 3000MHz may or may not be an option, whereas 2933MHz is, as is almost always 3200MHz.

When you install the ram, it'll default to 2133MHz. Just enable XMP/DOCP for profile#1, which will be 3200MHz. If that is not stable (wierd, but happens), enable the xmp, write down the timings (photo or pencil etc), disable the xmp then manually plug the...

The above Dram Calculator is also handy for best settings for the ram.

Ryzen 2000 has issues running 4x8GB and 2x16GB at 3200 and will usually require dropping the speed to 2933 or 3000, so keep that in mind if you haven't bought ram yet. 2x8GB at 3200 should work fine though. MSI Ryzen boards have a feature for memory overclocking called Memory Try it. It will allow you to try different preselected speeds and timings, so you can quickly underclock to 2933/3000 if you bought a 3200 or faster kit that does not work at 3200 and does not have an XMP setting for 2933/3000.
