32bit windows showing 4GB

Just a question of curiosity.
I just installed vista sp1 and now it shows 4GB in system info.
Will it use it all or was it just a fix to recognize it?

sorry, but no, the 4GB address space limitation is still in place. It is just for your viewing pleasure

Lol, it's a trick by Microsoft. Their SP1 shows it, but the 32bit OS still can't use the full 4gb. It just can't be done.

There were earlier threads about this, when SP1 first came out.

Just can't be done ..., but it can, which is why many people come in here being confused. Microsoft just want to make sure drivers work more than they want to support memory >4GB
