[SOLVED] 32GB ram recommendation for 2600X and X570

I'm running 2X16GB not 4X8GB. though it is dual rank so maybe it's equivalent.
I went down from 3200 16-16-16-36 to 3133 14-14-14-32 and it SEEMS to be stable so far. I'm at 1.35V or 1.38V, can't remember. It sounds like I should count myself lucky. It seems like the CPU is the bottleneck so I think I'll still swap down to 3200Mhz ram.
I believe I skipped over part of your original post and missed that you said you already had 2x16GB. Even though 2x16GB has a better chance of hitting 3200 CL14, it still may have just as many issues as a 4x8GB configuration. Honestly though, you are unlikely to notice any real difference in games running at 3000 CL14 vs 3200 CL14. It would be around 5fps different a most, unless the game is...

I am able to run it with XMP, voltage set to 1.35V and at 3200Mhz. My reasoning for getting 3600 ram was that in the future, I figure when they switch to AM5, the price of AM4 cpus will prob drop and I'll upgrade to the fast one and I wont need to buy new ram. In hind sight, this probably wasnt very smart since ram prices usually go down.

Also, now need 32GB of ram. I couldnt find anything on the QVL so I got: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (2x16GB) 3600 (F4-3600C16D-32GTZR). However, I can't get it to run stable at 3200. I got it to 3133Mhz and it seems ok. I'm at 16-16-16-36-52. 1.38V. Is there something I should try to tweak to get it to 3200Mhz?

Alternatively, I might return that ram and get something else. I'd like to get up to at least 3200Mhz CL16. CL14 would be better. Can someone please recommend something? Preferably someone that has the same MB and CPU and has something that works? Are there any single rank 16GB modules?
I was looking at:
G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (2x16GB) 3200 (F4-3200C14D-32GVK)
or
G.Skill Flare X 32 GB (2x16GB) 3200 (F4-3200C14D-32GFX)
These both are 14-14-14-34

Also, Has anyone been able to get Memtest86+ to run and recognize the keyboard?
There's no PS-2 port. I have legacy USB support enabled. However, running memtest86+, it doesn't recognize the keyboard and I can't select SMP mode so the test runs very slow.

Your F4-3600C16D-16GVK kit uses Samsung B-die, so you should be able to run at least 3200 CL14-14-14-34 1.35v without any issue. As for USB, you need enter the bios to set UEFI USB as first boot or boot before your OS drive.

Well 32GB with 4x8GB is a different matter. Running 4x8GB with Ryzen 2000 is tricky if you are trying to get at least 3200 CL14 or CL16. You will usually end up having to just run 2933-3000 because of the time it takes to get it tuned and stable. I'm currently running two Samsung B-die kits, Patriot Viper steel DDR4 4000 2x8GB for 4x8GB at 3000 CL14-14-14-28-44 292 1T 1.35v, tuned with Dram calculator for Ryzen 1.7.3. I was never able to get 3200 CL14 or CL16 stable with my Ryzen 5 2600 and I've tried many times for hours each time.

not every 2600X runs perfectly at 3200 MHz speeds (and certainly above that can have issues) with all RAM kits and all mainboards...(Ryzens in general are certainly more finicky with RAM speeds than most Intel rigs...; hopefully less so with 3000/5000 series)

This is more specifically in relation to your Ryzen 2000 CPU and Ryzen 3000 should be stable when running at least 3200 CL14 2x16GB or 4x8GB.

I actually was running 3200 CL16 2x8GB before. I could not get 3200 CL16 2X16GB to work. 3133 CL14 2X16GB seems to be stable right now though. Seems like a big jump with the CL difference. I agree, performance difference is prob about the same
