344.75 GeForce Update Frozen?

Hi, I recently build a PC with a GTX 760 and updated the drivers to version 344.75 WHQL on Windows 8.1. The screen is flickering black to dark grey and has been doing so for approximately 90 minutes. I really don't want to shutdown my computer cause I'm worried something might get corrupted. Should I wait or should I restart and roll back to the last update? Thanks in advance.

Other specs: i5 4690k, ASRock Z97 Pro4 & Crucial MX100

I would restarted the PC this happened with my 650 ti with one of the beta drivers about 3 months ago and I restared my pc and updated it again and it worked just fine

boot into safe mode then uninstall nvidia drivers from there. reboot and reinstall nvidia drivers

How do I boot into safe mode without setting it up before hand? I've only been running this computer for about 3 to 4 hours and never had time to do that. :/

turn pc on then shut it down with the button do this about 5-7 times till it starts beeping than let it beep and it should take you to options and click boot safemode

if its a pre built pc it should do it cause of the speaker in the pc

Thanks for all the answers guys!! 🙂 Turned out when I mashed shift and F8 it booted normally (I have no idea how) so I rolled the driver back. Both of you were alot of help!

lol sorry i don't have much experience using win 8. all my machines at home still on win 7 since i see no reason to really upgrade my OS.
