Hello all. I need some advice. During this past week. I've purchased these three items:

1. GTX 980ti
2. Dell U3415W 3440 x 1440 60hz Monitor
3. Acer x34 Preditor 3440 x 1440 Gsync 100hz Monitor.

Now...I'm gonna send one of the monitors back. Overall, the Dell seems to actually be the nicer monitor. It has a perfect screen, and very, very little backlight bleed. I got it on cyber monday for less than $700. Also, I can overdrive the Dell to 75hz.

The Acer x34 Predator on the other hand, was $1300. Has much more backlight bleed than the Dell. And what I thought at first was dead pixels, looks to be trash under the screen. But, the Acer has Gsync and 100mhz.

So, here's my question... If I wanna have the best future-proofing for the next couple of years, which would be the better way to to?

1. The Acer Gsync monitor with one 980ti.
2.The Dell monitor with two SLI 980ti.

Which would future proof me the longest? SLI'd 980ti's or one 980ti with the Gsync 100hz monitor? With what the Acer cost extra, I could buy an additional 980ti.

I have an i7 4ghz CPU and 32gb of ram, and SSD's.

Thanks so much!

It's tough to say what to do...if you kept the x34 and rma'ed it and got a perfectly working one, it would be worth it maybe to run one 980 ti on it if you plan on going sli in the future or upgrading to pascal or arctic islands next year or the year after. The 34" 1440P, runs a lot of games close to 60 with one card but not every game, so if you can make a few concessions on some games

There's been a lot of QC issues with the x34, unfortunately but from those I've talked to that own it, when it was working perfectly it is a beautiful monitor, especially the g sync part with no tearing...that dude also owns a 28" 4K monitor and I was asking him about the differences between the two when I was looking.

The problem is you get another ti and you will be way above 60hz for the dell monitor and the 2nd ti would really be benficial with the G sync @100hz, even though you can get 75hz on the dell, Gsync is really really nice with no tearing...I get used to the tearing on my 4K monitor but it still sucks to have it and it tears even when I'm close to refresh rate. I wish I had gotten 4K G sync but the colors looked better on the non g sync.
