Hey guys im currently looking at what cables to purchase to run 3440X1440 @144hz I've narrowed it down to DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort V1.4 and
HDMI 2.0 (leaning more towards HDMI cable) so I would like if someone can help confirm if these cables can be used to achieve 3440X1440 @144hz. Now my monitor is HDMI 2.0 compatible but I'm not sure if my gpu connections will limit whether I can use these cables to get 144hz. My gpu is a GIGABYTE R9 280 WindForce 3X OC but I absolutely cant find any information on whether the mini display port on the gpu is 1.4 compatible or HDMI 2.0 compatible. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

The R9 280 supports DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4. You can run up to 3440 × 1440 at 120 Hz using DisplayPort, or 50 or 60 Hz using HDMI depending on what the monitor supports.
